This privacy policy applies to the RateGlance app (hereby referred to as "Application") for Android phones and Wear OS devices, created by sry (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a free service with optional in-app purchases. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
The Application does not require user registration or login. The only data transmitted to our server is the anti-fraud verification request described in the "Anti-fraud Verification" section below; no other personally identifiable information is collected, stored, or transmitted.
The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to any server:
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your device. Approximate location (at country level) may be inferred from your IP address in the anti-fraud verification logs described below.
The Application fetches exchange rate data from the following third-party sources to display currency conversion information:
These requests are routed through the Service Provider's server, which acts solely as a relay and cache layer. The server does not log, store, or process any personally identifiable information. Requests contain only the currency codes needed and do not include any personal data.
Starting with version 1.5.1, the Application uses Google Play Integrity API to verify that it is a genuine install from the Google Play Store (rather than a tampered or re-signed copy). This helps protect paid features from piracy. The verification is performed only when a Billing event occurs (subscription purchase, lifetime purchase, or restore purchases); it does not run on every app launch.
When a Billing event triggers verification, the Application transmits the following to the Service Provider's verification server (hosted in Japan):
com.sry.rateglance) — a static constant, not user data. The Service Provider's server logs, for each verification request:
Log retention:
The verification logs are not correlated with any user account, device identifier, or payment information. The Service Provider cannot identify individual users from these logs; the IP address is used only at aggregate level for abuse detection.
You can avoid all Play Integrity verification requests by never triggering a Billing event (i.e., not subscribing, not purchasing, and not tapping "Restore purchases"). The free 3-day Premium trial does not trigger verification. Anti-fraud verification cannot be disabled independently while using paid features, because it is the core mechanism protecting those features from piracy.
The Application uses the following third-party services:
The Service Provider may disclose information:
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your device or via the Google Play Store.
The Application stores all data locally on your device. No user data is stored on any external server. Uninstalling the Application will remove all locally stored data.
If you have any questions about data retention, please contact the Service Provider at admin@choyoworks.com.
The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact the Service Provider at admin@choyoworks.com so that appropriate action can be taken.
You must also be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The only personal data handled by the Service Provider is the IP address logged during anti-fraud verification (as described above), retained for a limited period and used only at aggregate level. All other user data (currency pairs, cached rates, app settings, purchase status) is stored locally on your device and never transmitted. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect any information processed and maintained.
All communication between the Application and the Service Provider's server uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Communication between a paired phone and watch via Wearable Data Layer uses the standard Google-provided transport encryption (Bluetooth / Wi-Fi).
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-04-19. Change log: 2026-04-19 — Added "Anti-fraud Verification" section describing Play Integrity API verification requests and IP address logging (introduced in v1.5.1 for anti-piracy protection). Previous version (2026-04-01): initial policy.
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at admin@choyoworks.com.
